Since then she has cemented her place in radio as she wakes South Africa up with the best in entertainment on "Wake Up With Anathi" from 03:00- 06:00, and she introduces all music lovers to new and fresh hits on the B&E Hot 99 chart every Monday.

Afrika Mdutyulwa aka Smash Afrika is talented and ambitious radio jock and MC with a passion for inspiring the youth with his charisma and personality. His radio career at YFM began when he joined Tholi B to co-host En Route 6 in 2013. He then moved up the ranks and landed his own show "Point of Order" in 2015 weekdays 03:00 – 06:00. He is the founder of African Urban Nights; a movement that celebrates the heritage of Africa, in music, fashion, art, film, literature and more for young adults traveling the and residing on the continent.

He is a creative at heart who uses his talents to develop concepts for his company Afrika RPCT. Smash Afrika is passionate about young people, music and the African continent and his company shares the same values with his main message centred on "listening to the kids".

MeLo

Dynamite comes in small packages, as is the case with Pretoria Native and accounting graduate, Boitumelo "Melo" Maoka.

Melo's radio journey began in February of 2011 when she auditioned to join UJfm which landed her the 3 to 6am weekday slot on the station. Testament to her work ethic, tenacity, and "Joie de vivre", Melo was given the opportunity to host the weekday lunchtime slot in February of 2012.

After having a successful run on the slot, and catching the attention of the then programmes' manager at Yfm, Tumelo Diaho-Monaheng, Melo was approached to join the premiere youth station, in which she hosted the Sunday late night show. 2015 was a good year for the young radio personality as this was the year she found herself hosting the Weekend Breakfast show, "Melo in The Morning". 2016 saw Melo move to join the weekday line-up to host the brunch time show "Melo On 10th", which she still currently hosts.

Melo has a great passion for financial literacy and sexual health - this can be felt in the spirit of the show.

KHuTSo THeLeDi

Mpumalanga-born Khutso Theledi was snapped up by YFM in 2012 while she was completing her studies in Radio and Sound Engineering at Boston Media House.

Landing her first break on GP's Youth Radio Station YFM 99.2 in 2012, she was a co-host and traffic presenter for the breakfast show, "Flava In The Morning" with Mo Flava (2012-2014), and went on to do the same on "The Freeway" with Mo Flava (2014-2015).

She then stayed on the drive time slot in 2015-2016 to be the co-host and traffic presenter on "The Raw Rush" with Thulisa Kanzi while holding it down as the host of her own show "Coupe De Grace" and the R&B Hot99 chart. Last year, she charged things up during weekend afternoons from 12:00 - 15:00PM on "Charged Up".

This year you can call her the captain cause it's "Krunch Time" with Khutso Theledi live on air weekdays from 12:00 - 15:00 and let her serenade you on the R&B Hot99 every Tuesday from 09:00 - 10:00 and again from 21:00- 22:00.

DJ SaBBY

Durban native Sabelo "DJ Sabby" Mtshali saw his radio career soar to great heights after joining the Y Academy in 2010.

His proudest moment was when he landed his own show on YFM in 2012 called "The Adrenaline Rush" before moving to "The Weekend Shakeup" in 2013. He was then the host of "The Best Thing Ever", the weekday afternoon show in 201 and 2015 where he was joined by Tshepi Mabulana. This year, Sabby will accompany you home on "The Best Drive" with Tshepi Mabulana every weekday.

When he's off air, you can catch him enjoying a snack or two at his favourite restaurant, Olivias, or diving into the cold Atlantic Ocean at his favourite holiday destination, Cape Town.

Bryce Clarke aka DJ Ankletap first rocked Jozi's airwaves from 2012 as host of "Strictly Tap Nights" as well as "The Warehouse" after YFM caught hold of the Potchefstroom native.

In 2013, he opened the doors to the best mansion in Mzansi, "The Tap Mansion" during the weekday afternoon slot at YFM and later rose to the occasion weekday mornings from 06:00 - 09:00 as the host of "Rise N Tap" in 2014 and 2015. He now raises the bar as the host of "The DJ Ankletap Show". When he's not on-air, you can catch him behind the decks spinning the best dance tunes in the hottest clubs around South Africa, or on the dance floor at his favourite party venue, Truth in Midrand.

The youngest DJ on the line up, Feroza Moosa is a 19-year-old dancer, rapper and radio DJ who stands' out amongst the rest as a cool and laidback Dubstep enthusiast living her life one moment at a time.

Feroza was born in Eldorado Park but then moved to Buccleuh where she currently lives there with her family.

After realising that her talkativeness is her biggest strength, Feroza decided to use her skills to her advantage a join the Y Academy in 2015. This, turned out to be the best thing she could've ever done as it lead to her getting her very own show as the new Hot99 Dubstep DJ.

Chandre'a Gabrielle Pretorius, better known as Dj Candii, was born and bred in Eldorado Park. Her journey in the industry began back in 2011 when she got an opportunity to present on 'Eldos Fm'. She immediately fell in love with radio and music and this in turn inspired her to enrol at FUSE Academy, DJ Zinhle's Female DJ School, where she graduated with a Platinum certificate. Her style focuses on tribal and commercial house music.

In 2013 she was one of twelve applicants chosen for the Y Academy, a 6 month internship offered at YFM. After successfully completing the internship she obtained a certificate in broadcasting. Mentored by legendary Just Mo, Dj Candii used her talents to become the Host of The Hot 99 Dance chart every Friday from 9 to 10am and again from 9 to 10pm.

Xolani Mthombeni Better known as Xtremme , is an ambitious young man born in the east of Johannesburg, Benoni Gauteng. Apart from radio, Xtremme is a business man and an I.T Programing and Web Design Final year student at UNISA.

Xtremme joined YFM as a playground presenter on weekends from UJfm and later moving to his very own show SAT and SUN 9-12pm The Weekend Rush which is a punchy and energetic show aimed at giving listeners an inside look at everything from how music producers go about producing their latest bangers, to where to go on your next vacation or baecation.

Born in Daveyton, Themba Mbolekwa aka Entro is a true reflection and product of ambition and hard work.

His love for radio began at age 17 and has since been his top priority in life. Having completed his studies in sound engineering, he joined YFM's Y-Academy in 2014 at the age of 22 after countless failed attempts.

With no radio experience, he was discovered as an on-air talent after hosting several shows on YFM's Ground Zero slot and has since presented and produced various other shows on the station.

His ambitions include ultimately being known as the voice of urban youth culture.

You can now catch Entro on "The Pre-Game", Saturdays, 3pm - 6pm and "The Y-Urban Top 40" on Sundays between 3pm - 6pm.

SuPTa

Hard work and consistency does pay off, as proven by Eastern Cape born Siya 'Supta' Sithole.

Supta began his radio career at a community radio station in 2008 where he shadowed other presenters. When he matriculated, he moved to Bloemfontein to study corporate and marketing communication.

In 2010, he further honed his presenter skills when he began working as a sports presenter. He then moved to campus radio at Kovsie FM where he hosted various entertainment shows.

YFM then snapped him up in 2013 and he went on to present on "The Playground" before becoming the official turn-up king on the airwaves as host of "The Turn Up" in 2014 and 2015. Supta’s hard work ethic has now paid off as he spearheads his own show where he uses his platform to help put others on.

He produced "Flava In The Morning" before moving over to produce "The Raw Rush" and to spearhead the live DJ mixing show "The Players Club" in 2015.

This year, the good music continues on "The Playa's Club" every Saturday from 21:00 - 00:00 and extends to Sundays with "The Sinday Social" every Sunday from 21:00 - 00:00.
